The 400-year-old banyan tree is spread across three acres and requires more space. Horticulture department is now scouting for more land to accommodate spreading tree branches. you can see branches walking put of the compound as if they want to walk out or spread their wings.
There are various nurseries on the way to Banyan tree. various varieties of plants you can get there with reasonable pricing. it makes drive more colorful and serene.

one weekend I decided to visit 400 years + Big Banyan tree which is around 45 Km from city center & off Bangalore- Mysore road. I heard lot about it so had a curiosity ,how does it look .
Giant walking Big Banyan Tree is located in the village of Kethohalli in the outskirts of Bangalore. The Dodda Aalada Mara in Kannada, means Big Banyan Tree.
At the Big Banyan Tree, took the path along the roots on the pathway that leads to the roots which are spread over three acres. The roots are well secured, and proper care is being done for the roots.

We also witnessed several birds like the Drongo, Hoopoe, Doves, and Pirnia and a lot of monkeys were there who were trying to get something to eat from the people who have come to visit there.

Way to reach Big Banyan Tree
The Road direction is very easy and it will be left side coming from Bangalore and off Mysore Road.
For South Bangalore people, its advisable to take NICE Road and exit at Mysuru road.
Visiting Timings:
All Day (Monday to Sunday)
6 AM to 6:30 PM IST , try to avoid odd hours or rush hours for better experience.
There is no entry fee.
