Devprayag Uttarakhand
Devprayag is the last Prayag or the holy confluence of the Alaknanda River, from here that the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi River is known as Ganga. The meaning of Devprayag is Godly confluence as "Dev" man's god and "Prayag" means confluence.The five holy sites are Vishnuprayag, Nandaprayag, Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag. The town is also the winter seat for the priests of Badrinath Dham temple. Located on the route for Chardham yatra, Devprayag attracts thousands of devotees, especially during the yatra season.
