Dhanaulti is not much heard by the high end travellers. However, if you are tight on time and want to witness the raw nature, then the Dhanaulti is the place for you.
If you wish to cover only Dhanaulti then two days would be sufficient from Delhi. However, if you want to explore further like Kanatal or Nanda devi temple, trishool peak, then you may have to extend the trip for like 4 - 6 days.
On the first day, we reached the place we had to stay. We had lunch and then went on wandering in the trails plus guided trek. In the evening we witnessed the snowfall, have a little party amidst the snow and afterwards went for the dinner.
On the second day, after having our breakfast, we spent the day in adventure activities organized by our stay provider. We were about to go for the trek again but snowfall started again. So we decided to stay and have fun there only. We were tired anyway from all sorts of adventure activities we had tried.
The day spent well at the tent site.
Dhanaulti offers you breathtaking visuals, ample opportunity to adventurous trips, small scale (2 -3 kms) trekking opportunities. You can simply get out of your hotel and start wandering in the trails the town has to offer.
2-3 trekking options are available but it would be better if you ask the locals for which one to go. Personal camping is not suggested.
Caution- Dhanaulti is witnessing heavy snowfall from past two years and you should better check the standard of your accommodation if you chose to stay in tents. Not all of them are prepared to offer seamless services amidst the heavy snowfall.
