Need for a break and peaceful vacation..we didn't had KitKat but our choice was Andaman with lot of Adventure
Our itinerary was a 5 day 4 Night plan.
Being Vegetarians we were worried about the Food as we read on many articles the Veg food is rarely available. But it's a False.. you have lot of options for vegetarians even in Havelock
Day 1: Port Blair
Zonal Anthropological Museum - Cellular Jail - Corbyn cove Beach - Light and Music Show
Booked our flights 3 months ago from Bangalore (Indigo airlines one of the best in class) started at 4.30am and arrived at Portblair around 730am.
Checked-in to our Homestay (Edha Homestay) and freshn up and took a auto to reach out to "Zonal Anthropological Museum" which takes around an hour.
Tribal Lifestyle, Culture and the way of Living is visually explained. The history of Andamantand it's habits are rebuilt
For Vegetarians we have Annapurna Restaurant and if you are looking for Economical spending for food you can opt Kattabomman a Tamil style restaurant. All the Taxi drivers know this place
Post lunch our plan was to visit Cellular Jail one of the National Freedom fighters memorial and also see the intact Cell of Veer Savarkarji.
Try to reach Cellular Jail around 2.30pm so that it will be less crowded and you get good time to explore.
Post Cellular Jail we reached out to Corbyn Cove Beach for a evening walk. Pre bookings to Light and Sound show at Cellular Jail was arranged and was scheduled at 7.30pm. There we'll be 3-4 shows every day which will last for 45-50min
Goosebumps are guaranteed here as you will be taken back to the freedom fighters era.
PortBlair - Havelock Island - Radhanagar Beach
Ferries to be booked well in advance Online or through your agents. It's better to go with agents if you are planning tight schedules and with family to avoid last minute cancellation and booking chaos.
Pre journey there's a baggage scanning and security check so need to be in the dock atleast an hour before the departure. It's a 2.30hr journey from PortBlair to Havelock Island.
Checked in to Havelock Beach Resort a decent resort with good buffet breakfast, a private beach and Pool.
You can borrow Scooters at 500 bucks a day anywhere in Havelock Island.
Radhanagar Beach is around 10kms from the Havelock dock area which Asia's second cleanest beach and ranked 8th in the World
it's an amazing gateway for photoshoot and swimming. Radhanagar beach has shallow shore and can spend a good time here swimming and playing.
In Radhanagar Beach there's a Govt permitted Govt Veg Restaurant where they server Chapati Dal and Rice.
Sunset here is the must. FYI the Sun sets around 4.45-5pm so plan accordingly.
Scuba Diving - Elephanta Beach
Havelock Island is the destination for Scuba divers. The Reefs, Corals and underwater world here is mind-blowing.
Found the Nemo here.. underwater world creates a mesmerizing memory and it's unimaginable.
Elephanta beach is the destination for watersports. it's a 30min speedboat ride to here and you get 15min Snorkeling as complimentary
There isn't any restaurant here but you get lot of Tender coconut, fruits and the must try Papdi chat and Samosa Chat
Here watersports are very nominally priced and playing in crystal clear water is heaven
Elephanta Beach closes by 3.30pm
We had dinner at Biswas Veg Restaurant which is located on th way to Kaalapathar Beach. A pure Vegetarian punjabi restaurant with good taste and a decent menu
Kaalapathar Beach - Exploring Havelock Village
Breakfast was planned at Shaakahari Restaurant which is well known in Havelock for veg food.
Taste filled aloo paratha was our choice of food.
Further we continued to Kaalapathar Beach. Literally we felt our visuals are edited.. such a feast to our eyes.
Ozone Blue couldn't be explained anyway better.. you won't feel going back from here.. There's very little shore to swim but there is facility of Changing Room and Rest rooms, few were under construction.
This beach is a must visit destination and don't ever miss this in you itinerary. Sun Rise at Kaalapathar is recommended which will be around 4.30am even if you couldn't make it this place is a must visit at anytime.
Our lunch was planned at Flavours Resto again a Vegetarian restaurant on the way to Kaalapathar Beach.
Our return ferry Green Ocean-1 to PortBlair was on the 4th day evening and this ride was fun-filled with Music Dance and lot of laughter. Whole boat become like a college fest irrespective of age everyone was dancing.
Also got a chance to see flying Fish on the way back.
Pearls are the one thing everyone is interested to shop here, be careful on buying. Govt shop Sagarika doesn't sell pearls now, so the option available is only private shops.
Preferably buy Artisan items Handicrafts and Show pieces from Street sellers
To summarise it's a short and sweet journey with lot of fun loving memory at Andaman. Please carry Sunscreen Lotions and basic medications as there are hardly any medical facilities available.
It's a must visit Destination in lifetime as Andaman is Calling
