As i was Eagerly waiting to Visit Gandikota fort which was at 386Km from Hyderabad.
Finally the day comes when we were planning to visit some place which we can visit in a day and back to Hyderabad.
The sudden plan which took over our minds is to visit the Much awaited destination Gandikota Fort , We Drove overnight to sight a beautiful view of Gandikota fort in the mornings.
Gandikota fort is located on the bank of river Penna which is around 15Kms from the town Jammalamadugu.
The fort is very calm , rock formations are beautiful and especially we were mesmerized by the Picturesque view from the View point of Penna river.
Gandikota is a small village, Within the fort there are two ancient temples, One mosque, A big store room and an ancient built Historic monument they call charminar.
The fort is very well maintaned but you wont get anything to eat, Rocks in the Fort are cooler even under the hot sun.
How to reach:
Major cities near Gandikota are Kurnool and Nandyala, From there you can get Buses till Jammalamadugu, you can hire an auto till Gandikota fort.
It is best if you plan with your own vehicle cause gandikota is a small village without minimal facilities.
Where to stay:
If you are planning to stay overnight , Haritha resort maintained by Tourism department of Andhra pradesh is available near fort ,which is a very decent option near by.
