Amazing Tapajós River beaches with clear waters. That small village had become one of the favorite routes to visit in the northern Brazil. Its familiar spots like restaurants, bars and souveniers parlors along the river shore are some attractions of Alter do Chão. You can easily get to know the main part of the town in a day time, however, if you have the opportunity to visit some of the several beaches along the river, you'll really appreciate. The second semester is the better part of the year to visit Alter do Chão due to the overflow of the Tapajós River. You can get to Alter do Chão by plane or by boat from its nearest city Santarém.
