Mesmerizing Munnar #Lockdown

Our bus dropped us at Tata Football ground in Munnar at 10 am. From here, our local guide cum driver was waiting for us. They took us to Tea and Sky Home-stay. We refreshed and then after breakfast, we started our trip to explorer Munnar. First we went Cochin direction. Here we visited Blossom park, Pothamedu View Point, Spice Garden, Chocolate factory, Sengulam Dam. Driver asked us to go for Jeep Safari. He took us to the one of his client "the wild and wonderful- Jeep Safari" and there we bargained and finally they agreed on Rs. 3000. As safari was meant for 3 hours but for us they asked us to keep till sunset. We started at 2 pm so that we could visit each and every places in maximum time. This was the best way to explorer munnar. We visited 5 places i.e. Ripple Waterfalls, Hanging Bridge, Ponduni dam, Echo Picnic Point and Pothamedu View point. First they took us to Ripple waterfalls. Water was less but it was neat and clean and not so much of crowd. We stayed there for hour. You can also try some local snacks and fruits. We ate one full pineapple and 2 Passion fruit there, 2 red banana and few bondas. It was for 100 bucks. After this we went to hanging bridge. Pothamedu view point is known for Sunset view point. After sunset, it was almost 7 pm and we were tired so we came back to our Home-stay. We had local home made dinner. That was really tasty. We asked the owner about sunrise point as it was just a walk-able distance from stay. He told us that he would love to accompany us in the morning.

Home Stay: Tea&Sky: It is surrounded by Tea estate. The view from the balcony was awesome. From here one can enjoy both Sunrise as well as Sunset. Owner name is Mr. Arun. He is charming and cool. He would love to accompany you on the early morning walk around the tea estate. And he knows better places nearby where you can take perfect pictures to make it to your memory. He took us to the view point. We stayed for an hour and enjoyed the view. And then he took us to a tour inside the Tata tea plantation. He knew some points from there the view of the town would look really stunning. We took few beautiful pictures from there to capture in our memory. Going to the point was easier while coming back to the home-stay was more adventurous. One couldn't expect better morning walk than this. All thanks to Mr. Arun. His wife prepared us some authentic local foods which we really enjoyed.

Next day, we went for walk around tea estate. It was for 2 hours. Really amazing and adventurous walk. Today we were going towards Mattupatty direction. While in this direction, we visited Flower Garden, Photo Point, Botanical garden, Mattupetty dam, Film Shooting Point, Echo pint, Kundale lake and Top station. Film shooting point was crowded so spent only few minutes. You could spend some time at Echo point and at Top station. You might try maggi, lemon tea at Kundale lake. Don't waste your time in boating. Better stay there for sometime and enjoy the scenery. As the climate was cool so went down to Top station. From there view was stunning. We also enjoyed Elephant Safari. We traveled two echo points in 2 days and both were different. Second day's echo point was crowded while at other which we visited on 1st day was without any foot print of human being. At both places, turned yourself into child and sought loudly so that you could hear the echo of your voice.  While coming back from Top station, we visited Mattupetty Tea Factory. One can buy different variety of tea from here. Only disadvantage was one couldn't taste tea before buying the tea. While in Darjeeling or in Gangtok, one can taste variety of tea before buying. We reached City in late evening and walked around city for an hours. We bought Cashew, Masala tea and Chocolates.
