Day 1 kalpa
Morning after breakfast, relax or ride to the nearby town bazaar. After lunch, walk to the ancient Roghi Village, which offers a good opportunity to observe the lifestyle of the inhabitants, its architecture, customs and religion. Lunch, Dinner & overnight in Hotel.
Day2
Kalpa – Reckong Peo – Telangi – Kothi – Pangi – Kalpa
Morning after breakfast, visit Reckong Peo, district headquarters of the Kinnaur region and the new Buddhist Monastery built to commemorate his holiness the Dalai Lama’s “Kalchakra Sermon.” Explore the ancient villages of Kothi, Telangi, Pangi (the last village on the Hindustan Rd). Lunch, dinner, overnight at Kalpa .
Day 3
Kalpa – Jangi – Puh – Khab – Nako
Morning after a leisurely breakfast, drive 122 kms to Nako. As you drive onward towards Spiti Valley, you experience Timberline–a line beyond which forests do not grow. The barren and rugged brown mountains start from Jangi which get more rugged and barren after Puh (2837 M). Continue along the Sutlej River until you reach Khab (2831 Mt), the confluence (Sangam) of rivers Sutlej and Spiti, where you break for picnic lunch. A direct climb up takes us to Nako (3959 M). On arrival check into Camp. After lunch, walk through the village to the Temple of Padmasambhava, the second incarnation of Lord Budha. Also visit Nako Lake and see many ancient chortens. Dinner & overnight in Camps.
Day 4
Nako – Tabo
Morning after breakfast, drive to Tabo 64 kms, entrance to the Spiti Valley. Geographically and archaeologically, Spiti is a living museum. The mountains are devoid of any vegetation due to erosion by wind, sun and snow over thousands of years. On arrival check into Tabo Monastery. After lunch, climb up to the village Tabo (3050 M). Built around the year 996 AD, the Chos Khor Monastery at Tabo is the largest monastery in Spiti and one of the few remaining examples of the Golden Period of Buddhist Culture in the Himalayan Region. Return to Tabo for Dinner & Overnight stay here.
Day 5
Tabo – Dankar
Morning after breakfast, drive 46 kms to Dankar, the traditional “Capital of Spiti” and on arrival check into Camps. After lunch, visit Dankar Gompa (3890 M), the hilltop fort that dominates the scene, once served as a jail. It contains more than 160 scriptures of Lamas and Buddhists in Bhoti language. Dinner & overnight stay at Camps.
Day 6
Dankar – Ki And Kibber – Kaza
Morning after breakfast, drive 45 kms to Kaza. Enroute Visit the ancient Ki and Kibber Gompas, which are among the highest inhabited villages in the world. Later on arrival check into camps located just outside the village of Kaza. After lunch time, at leisure. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 7
Kaza – Chatru
Morning after breakfast, drive 160 kms to Chatru (3560m) over the famous Kunzum Pass (4551 M). Later on arrival check into Camp. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 8
Kaza – Chandra Taal – Komic Village
Morning after breakfast, drive onwards to Chandrataal Lake. Explore the beauty of Chandrataal Lake and Komic Village. Dinner and overnight stay at Camps
Day 9
Komic Village – Rohtang Pass – Manali
Morning after breakfast, drive onwards to Manali, 115 kms. Cross Rohtang Pass and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the snow covered peaks and beautiful green lush valleys, after crossing Rohtang. Later on arrival check into Hotel. Dinner & overnight in Hotel.
Day 10
Manali
Morning after breakfast, drive to the village of Naggar (2100m). A quaint village with its many ancient temples including the 11th-12th century Temple Gauri and the Tripura Sundri Devi Temple. Also visit the Roerich Gallery above the village. Later drive to Manali. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch walking tour. Visiting Dhungri Temple (also known as Hadimba Temple by locals) & the Old Manali town. Return to Hotel via Vashit (the hot springs), where you can take a dip in the ancient pond. Dinner & Overnight in Hotel.
