Kinnaur valley is one of the most beautiful and scenic places that Himachal Pradesh has to offer. We started our journey from the pristine valley of Narkhanda, and went straight to the village of Chitkul, on the way we witness nature's play with colour, the road condition was quite good till karcham.It took almost 8hours dive for us to reach Chitkul from Narkhanda.
In Kinnaur Road Trip, Satluj and Baspa river will be the companion even for the solo travellers. These two rivers are the life line of the Kinnaur District.
Chitkul is one the remotest village of Indian territory before the Indo Tibet Border, Chitkul got the best vantage point for seeking solace near the banks of Baspa River.Chitkul have got some very authentic Himachali home stays, some hotels and recently Zostel have opened its property at Chitkul.
After staying one night at Chitkul, enjoying the enchanting sunrise next morning , we left for another authentic Himachali village of Sangla, this is another blissful village, where traveler and tourists can enjoy the Himachali lifestyle. One can also take a small hike up to famous Kamru Fort at Sangla. Distance between Sangla and Chitkul is around 24 kms, in between there is another enchanting village called Rakcham, which is fast emerging as a new destination for nature lovers.
Next morning, we left for our last destination of this circuit, Kalpa. Kalpa is one of the famous destination of whole Himachal Pradesh. It is famous for its wide panoramic view of Kinnaur Kailash range.
Witnessing the sunrise at Kalpa can easily be on the wish list of any traveler.Kalpa have got many Hotels and Resorts,the best one being the HPTDC's Kinner Kailash. This property got the best vantage point for the whole panoramic view, but need prior booking. Apart from this, there are plenty hotels and almost every hotels got superb view of the mountain range. We stayed at Kalpa for 2 days, first day we took a small stroll at the village, went till the famous temple, the next day we went to visit the village of Roghi, on the way we encountered the infamous Suicide point.
Next day was the last day of our much awaited Kinnaur Tour, we drove all the way down to Shimla from Kalpa, it took almost whole day to travel the distance.
