This was the most memorable trip with my bunch of crazy best friends. The four us managed to take time out of our daily life & book this amazing adventure filled trip to Goa.

▪︎ How to reach this Hidden Gem ?
Its approximately 80 kms from Calangute & takes around 2.5 to 3 hrs of drive to reach . As we were staying at Calangute near to beach we had booked a private car for our entire 3 day trip. We left from our hotel by 10.00 a.m. in the morning & reached this beautiful Palolem Beach at around 12.30 p.m. in the afternoon.

The long drive in the middle of this greenery is beautiful. 😍

Butterfly Beach is not accessible by buses, cars or bikes as it is surrounded by a dense forest. One can reach this place by a boat ride either from Palolem or Agonda Beach or by trekking through the dense forest & uneven road. We opted for a boat ride to reach Butterfly Beach from Palolem Beach as trekking is said to be not a safe option.

As we reached Palolem, our driver asked us to walk down for approx 5 to 10mins through a resort called Dream Catcher to reach the Palolem Beach. Once you reach the beach you will be in awe of the place. The place is so beautiful.

This beach is clean & has all kinds of water sports activities. Since we had to go to Butterfly Beach we didn't waste much time & hopped on in our private speed boat. There are plenty of ferry options available to reach the beach but we decide to take private boat ride which costed us Rs.3000 for the entire to & fro ferry ride (that was an expensive ride but the end destination made it worth the peny.) The ride cost includes Dolphin Sight-seeing, Monkey Island, Honeymoon Beach & lastly this small paradise Butterfly Beach.

And off we go to chase the Dolphins 🐬

The journey starts by chasing around dolphins in the sea. As it was a high tide we could manage to get a glimspe of bunch of these cute dolphins. After the dolphin sight-seeing, we go to our second stop i.e monkey island where you are not allowed to get down from your boat. Since the island is covered with dense forest. Then our next stop was at the HoneymoonBeach* were again we couldn't get down from the boat because it was high tide & the entire beach was submerged.
(*Honeymoon Beach is not Butterfly Beach both are different at different ends of the island.)

And finally we reach our last stop Butterfly Beach.  It is known as “Butterfly Beach” because the shape of the valley which looks like a butterfly from arial view while some say the island is swarming with butterflies & thats the reason for its name.
This amazing semicircular beach is like a paradise in the South Goa.
This beach is slightly different from the rest of the beaches in Goa. The terrain of this beach is quite different, it has a steep slope going downhill towards the sea whereas the rest of the beaches are flat towards the shores. Because of its steep slope at the shore the waves are quite rough compared to other beaches. This kind of similar terrain also exists in some of the beaches  in South India & one such is  Someshwar Beach in Mangalore.

Butterfly Beach is scattered with these large rocks making the place photogenic

You can spend some quality time at this paradise with your friends & loved ones. The place being so beautiful, this beach offers a cinematic view making you click a bunch of pretty pictures & capture the moments that you enjoy there.

With harsh summers in Goa in the month of April - May we would suggest you to visit this place either early morning or evening as afternoons can be quite hot. You can also opt for stay options at Palolem & enjoy an entire day at the beach. As we stayed at Calangute & coz of time constraints we had to leave the place early in order to drive back & cover other sightseeing places.

By staying at Palolem you can also cover Patnem Beach which is also suppose to be a charm in South Goa.

The spectacular view of the island & the sound of waves makes you feel calm & relaxed. Writing this article it makes me feel go again to this blissful place with my girl gang.
