The Statue of Unity is gathering a lot of public attention right now whether it is political point of view or tourist point of view or anything else. I am not going to discuss upon any political concern, but definitely as a traveler, I am going to point out some important details about the statue if you ever want to visit it.

World's tallest statue now.

This is the world's tallest statue, 182 meter tall, now which has been built by spending around Rs 3000 Cr. Despite its location which if far from the main town Ahmedabad, about 200 km from there, it has started to grab tourists attention, more than 15 thousand visitors per day are expected to come here. It has become taller than the Statue of Liberty and the great statue of Buddha in China.

How to Reach?

The statue has been built on the bank of Narmada surrounded by the Satpura jungle and Vindhyachal hills. This is a beautiful background against the statue. Sardar Sarowar Dam is an important landmark near the statue. The nearest town near the Statue of Unity is Kevadia which is 3.5 km away. You will have to cover a distance of 200 km if you are coming from Ahmedabad.

What is inside and outside the statue?

The govt has built shopping centers, 3 star hotels and a research centre in the Sardar Patel Statue complex. There are also high speed elevators which can take you upto 400 feet of the statue upto its chest level.

A selfie point

The statue has a selfie point where you can get a good view of the surroundings. There is also a museum and audio video gallery. There will be also a laser light show which will tell about the unification of India after independence.

Ticket Booking and Timing

Days: Open all the week days.

Timing: 9am to 6pm.

Price: Highest ticket price is Rs 350 per head for Adults, for kids between 3 to 15 years old Rs 200, free entry for kids below 3 years old.

Entry for: Observation deck, valley of flowers, Sardar Patel museum, audio visual gallery, statue of unity site and Sardar Sarovar Dam.

Basic entry ticket will be priced at Rs 120 and for children below 15 years old, it is Rs 60 only. You can enter all the places except the observation deck with this ticket.
