Day 1

I remember the first time when i visited Udupi, it was probably 2015 .I used to hear lot about udupi and i used to dreadfully wait for my weekend as an excuse to escape to this extraordinary town.

Even with first visit, this town has abundance of beauty in it.

Udupi is known as Lord Parashurama Kshetra, and is famous for Kanakana Kindi located in southern part of Karnataka. From art, culture, and beauty this city offers everything that is magical.

Culture :-

Bhuta Kola, Nagaradhane are some cultural traditions of Udupi. The residents celebrate festivals such as Makara Sankranti, Krishna Janmashtami, Navaratri, Deepavali, Eid al-Adha, Eid al-Fitr and Christmas. Folk arts like Yakshagana are also popular.

Cusine:-

The term Udupi (also Udipi) is synonymous with vegetarian food now found all over the world. The origin of this cuisine is linked to Krishna Matha (Mutt). Lord Krishna is offered food of different varieties every day, . This cuisine was developed by Shivalli Madhwa Brahmins who cooked food for Lord Krishna, and at Krishna Matha in Udupi, the food is provided free of cost. Restaurants specialised in Udupi cuisine can be seen widely in most metropolitan and large cities around the length and breadth of India.

Day 2

Places to visit in Udupi:-

1.Udupi Sri Krishna Temple :-

It is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to god Krishna and Dvaita Matha located in the city of Udupi in Karnataka, India.

The matha area resembles a living ashram, a holy place for daily devotion and living. Surrounding the Sri Krishna Matha are several temples namely the Udupi Anantheshwara Temple which is over a 1,000 years old.

2.Malpe Beach :-

Malpe beach is a very scenic and importantly clean white sand beach only six kms from Udupi, which is a major town in Karnataka. The sand is soft and the breeze was lovely ! I was actually staying at Udupi and visited the beach in the evening. It was lovely to spend some time there and take in the sights before returning back. I did not find hawkers on the beach here and surprisingly the beach very crowded (I visited on a weekend).

Day 1

3.Saint Mary's Island :-

Never forget to visit this island when you are at Udupi. 20 minutes of boat ride from Malpe beach, this pristine piece of land is very maintained, absolutely clean, and most importantly plastic free. The quaint little restaurant, "The coconut grove" serves delicious meals at very affordable price. Do stop by and give it a try.

You can bath in the clean water or just walk around. The rock structures are interesting and call for some amazing photography.

Day 2

4.Kapu Beach :-

Love the ambience of this beach, the lighthouse and the rocks are the highlight. Which means you need to be careful while swimming. Go to this beach truly enjoy this place.
