On our way back from Singapore we decided to spend a few nights in Kuala Lumpur.

Day 1

Landed in KL. The airport is quiet far from the City. There is a train that connects the Airport with KL Sentral station. Our Hotel was just next to the station. As we always travel by public transport & this station is a hub for all trains leading in & out of KL.

After taking a mid day nap, we decided to head out. First stop was the most iconic Petronas Twin Tower. Just find a nice bench to sit back & enjoy the light & sound fountain show called Lake Symphony. Next stop was Marini's on 57. The view from this place is amazing. Tip: Book your table in advance.

All lit up in the night.

Day 2

On our second day in KL we decided to visit Batu Caves. Please do not book any package to visit this place. Just board a KTM Komuter Line train from KL Sentral station. The last stop of this train is Batu Caves. Just get down & walk with the crowd, you'll reach your destination. Take the same train to return back to the city.

The magnificent statue of Lord Murugan.

You can see the statue of Lord Murugan after exiting the station. There a lot of steps to climb & then you reach the temples located inside the caves. Beware of the monkeys there & don't try to touch or feed them. Tip: All women visiting must have their knees covered, so carry a sarong with you.

Back in KL & it was now time to meet some feathery friends. Many people skip this while in KL. But KL bird park has World's Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary.

They have Bird Show twice a day & many other activities throughout. Do check the happenings around the time you visit.

Peacocks are not caged. Up close with the visitors.

Next on the list was KL Tower. Do take the package of Observation Deck + Sky Deck. Ignore all other things there, not worth of your time. Sky Box is a great place to click pictures. View down the glass bottom is amazing.

Visit @ Sunset.

Day 3

Today was the typical touristy City Tour. We had limited time & thought this was a quick way to explore main attractions of KL. First stop was the National Museum.

Next was the National Monument. The sculpture commemorating the dead is really impressive.

Next on the list were National Palace & Independence Square. We headed back to the Hotel. Later in the day we laze around in the infinity pool of our Hotel. Much needed respite from the KL heat.

Suit up as it's time to party. KL has this dedicated zone for Nightlife. You can pub hop with ease & the place really comes alive late in the night. We partied till 3 A.M. & now it was time to rest & catch up on sleep.

Day 4

Our flight was late in the evening so we went out for some street shopping. Kasturi Walk & Petaling Street are the places to go. Hard bargaining & you can get some cool souvenirs for cheap.

It was time to say good bye. Hoping to come back some day. KL was a nice mix of culture, embracing both heritage & modern world.
