On 30th August 2019 flight to Kuala Lumpur. We are 6pax, it's a family trip. Before going I never know I could enjoy this much in this trip. You can book a direct flight from Chennai to KL. 3hrs 40min journey (Air Asia).
31st August 2019. We booked a taxi per day it's 700 ringgit. But you can also book grab cab and go around because it's cheap comparing to taxi. Since we have aged people with us we choose private taxi.
We got a friendly driver (lady driver). She Covered almost all the important places of Kl-malaysia in a day.
Must visit places in KL
1. Batu caves
Colorful rainbow steps welcoming you and before start climbing the stairs you can see a giant statue of Lord Muruga and a colorful mandap with monkeys playing here and there. One definitely indulge in the colorful welcome with 🐒 on either side of the steps. Lots of fun and positive vibes with culture and architecture.
(Beware of monkeys-they will take your belongings if you are not careful)
2. Dataran Merdaka and arts museum.
It's a place to take photo and one can spend their leisure evening time. The architecture of the museum will be classic and iconic.
3. Shopping streets like Little India, Chinatown, central market where you can shop till you drop.
4. Maha mariamman temple, a Hindu temple with full of tradition and culture.
5. Petronas-twin tower and kl tower. We didn't go to the center bridge. I felt it's not that worth the penny we spend buying tickets. But one can take pics Infront of those two towers. If one wants to see the view of Malaysia you can go to KL tower, the cost is also comparatively less with twin towers & you can enjoy 360 degree view of the city.
Go late evening to enjoy the beauty of the city with staring lights.
6. Jalan alor - food street, a wide range of Chinese, Thai & Malai cuisine. Rates are bit high when compared to Chinatown food courts but worth the penny. All the dishes taste completely different hence only foodie can enjoy the place. Each cuisine has their authentic unique taste.
You can enjoy live street music in the parallel roads of Jalan alor and street play in the Jalan alor.
I heard many saying Malaysia is not safe, but I highly recommend Malaysia as one of the safe place. Especially in the city you can't face major crime issues. Anywhere you go be little extra cautious hence nothing will happen. One can enjoy their trip.
1st September 2019 - Genting highland - A mandatory one day trip. We went by grab cab it costed 250 ringgit to & fro.
Go to cable car station. You will get cable car and point to point stops are available so you can enjoy each and every place in the highland. We directly went to chin swee cave temple. Beautiful pagodas with 8 hell- englightment of life, a giant Buddha statue and holy pond. One can know about the budhha belief's and 8 hells by reading and visually seeing their punishment as they kept that as a open museum.
All age groups can go they have escalators to go to upper levels and so many resting places are available
If you go down you will see Buddha temple with tortoise pond which they believe as luck and fortune. It's simply beautiful.
Apart from the temple there are also some shop having eatables, selling jewellery, artifacts and health related items. I prefer to just window shop because if you go to kL you will get those items much more cheaper.
Recommend hours - it's a half a day trip. Climate was partially cloudy, airy and pleasant.
One the same day eve we went to KL park and food street. Spent rest of the day with window shopping.
2nd September 2019 - malaysia to Langkawi.
We woke up late morning had our breakfast and check-out. We went to airport to go to Langkawi. Eve flight - Malindo airways. A comfort flight journey but one hour flight delay.
We reached Langkawi around 10:00Pm night. We ate in roadside restaurant but food was yummy. It costed very less.
Everyday in Langkawi they have night market from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Monday night market is ulu melaka unfortunately we couldn't go due to late arrival.
3rd September 2019 - Langkawi sightseeing
The beauty of Langkawi we realized in the next day morning. Pleasant and simply beautiful. Lush green atmosphere with pleasing climate.
1. Mangroove Forest ride.
First we went to mangroove Forest. Ticket cost per boat 350 ringgit for 2 hrs. Worth the money. We enjoyed speed boat right
They took us to bat caves, crocodile caves, fish farm, eagle bird feeder point & andaman sea. The bat cave was thrilling, we went inside the cave which was dark and full of bats inside. They will provide torches for 1 ringgit. You can take that and go.
Fish farm is fun and lovely. They feed the fish which they grow there and they allow us to feed to. It was fun. They sell live fish and you can chose whichever you like they will cook and give you. But don't eat there, it's costly and not clean.
Andaman sea. It's a beautiful spot. You can able to a shoe shaped island which is surrounded by Bali in and Penang in either sides and Thailand in one side. If you go around the shoe island you will get a message from your mobile network welcome to Thailand. It was amazing 😍.
You can enjoy your speed boat ride, like you will feel the wobbling waves with high wind. It was fun and thrilling.
(Be careful with your belongings while going speed in boat).
Then we went to Langkawi zoo per head ticket cost 40 ringgit. You can able to interact with animals with safety and guides. Kids will love the zoo.
Crocodile farm-full of crocodile and crocodile shows. It was nice.
Then we went to sky bridge. Ticket cost 50 ringgit for adults and 35 for kids.(this includes 3d museum, skyrex and entry for sky bridge) For going to sky bridge you need to get separate ticket, if by capsule lift car, for adults it's 20 ringgit for kids it's 15 ringgit. If by walk the tickets cost 10 ringgit for adults and 5 for kids. We went by capsule life car. One you reached the sky bridge you will be imersed In the beauty of scenic nature, the fog and heights are really scary. But all age groups will enjoy and best spot for clicking photos. One of the must visit places in Langkawi. You can see monkey there too. They are simply cute.
Then eve we went to eagle square. Without going to eagle square Langkawi trip is incomplete. Because the eagle is Langkawi's national bird and they have a iconic spot to represent the Langkawi, which is surrounded by sea on all the sides. One can spend their evening their. Sunset view is beautiful here. Nature lovers will love the place.
4th September 2019. I returned to Chennai my rest of the family went to Bangkok.
Tips and things I would like to share..!!
Malaysia we stayed in Revopackers in bukit bintang.

For us it costed 270ringgit for 2 night 3 days.
Langkawi - ahh please spend at least two days in Langkawi. One day is not enough to feel Langkawi and it's beautiful places.
Spend one day for local sightseeing and next day for highland hopping. You can enjoy scuba diving and water sports activities. But it will cost little high so be prepared to spend and enjoy your day🙂 .
We stayed in Harmony guesthouse which costed 328 ringgit. We booked two challets. 3per in one room. Very well maintained guesthouse with gardens. One can enjoy their pleasant stay. Couples will definitely love the guesthouse and stay here.
A must share thing from my side. I should definitely tell about Maria and shukri whom we met in Langkawi. A genuine, friendly lovely travel agent. Shukri took us to one day Langkawi trip. They charged 150 ringgit for a day. He is really friendly and a superb driver & guide we got. The cost for a day 150 ringgit is for 9:30 to 5:30. But since we delayed in sky bridge and we also wanted to see eagle square. He drove from North to South and made us to completely enjoy the day. With a welcoming cheerful smile and friendly behavior we completely enjoyed the one day Langkawi trip.
I highly recommend them for your Langkawi trip. If one want to enjoy, have a safe and happy Langkawi trip.
