I keep travelling with my friends and I found it completely alright as, sometimes, even mommies need their ME time. But my bubble was broken by my 8 year old who had to say this, "This time you take me with you". I had to admit defeat before his cute little button eyes. I knew we both would get bored soon on the trip so had to call my friends and to ask if they are ready to take their children for a small one day trip. Surprisingly, they all were facing the same issue like me. And that is how this trip to Meher Retreat came into action.
Here in this blog I am going to mention 4 ultimate things I enjoyed with my 8 year old.
What Meher Retreat has to offer?
It is a retreat center in Pune for family, friends and corporate groups that offers more than you can expect in a day.
Here we go;
Scrumptious Food
On our arrival they tied us band at the entrance. We were taken to dining area for good full breakfast. We had misal pav, poha and suji ka halwa with tea/coffee. My son is a big time foodie and it is extremely tough to make him eat anything. he liked the food.
In lunch, they serve many varieties along with bhujiya, raita, papad, buttermilk, sukhi sabji, gravy sabji and what not.
Then comes the high tea at 4 to 5 PM before your departure.
We are not done here. They have this great Hurda Party under lush coconut trees where they serve, hurda, boiled seet corn, traditional sweets, etc. right from the farm.
You do not even have to carry extra water as they have put water cans at every corner. you can just carry a bottle or two and refill.
All the above mentioned food is unlimited.
Unlimited Sugar Cane Juice
This is what I liked the most. Every time we came after an activity like, cycling or a long walk we took sugarcane juice to quench.
Recreational Activities
Well, they have too much to offer, it won't be surprising if I miss something. Right from bull cart to go-karting, cycling to tractor ride, swimming to rain dance, believe me you are all packed for the day.
All the activities except cycling and go-karting are inclusive of the package.
Other activities you can take your children to are, tattoo making, clay pot making, slides and magic show.
You will have to pay extra 50/- for clay pot making.
Shopping
The farm is stretched till 27 acres. Staff keeps handcarts where they sell fresh veggies from the farm. I saw people had brought bags to keep veggies.
You can also buy refreshments for returning.
Buy clay pots made by experts to showcase your guests.
Overall,we had a pretty good time. He enjoyed a lot not just I took him with me but he had this whole day to himself with his friends without worrying about Homework.
