We started our trip from Mumbai to Ratnagiri on 16th Jan 2020. It's an overnight journey and early morning we reached Ratnagiri. Earlier I thought there would be problem for proper transportation but fortunately it was available.
I book Hotel Anand, it was almost 10-14 kms from railway station. It took 30 mins to reach. The hotel was at outskirts of city, the place was so calm and quiet. Next morning when we wake up the view was too good from over hotel.
We were now ready to explore the city. We called at a shop which give scooty on rent and we book it and started our journey after getting our scooty from the shop. It was available for Rs 1000/day, however it was bit costly but we managed.
Thibwa Palace
We went to Thibwa palace situated in the city. The palace was good and had its unique history regarding queen and king of Mayanmar.
Then we went to eat some food. Actually I went to small restaurant named Shubham Restaurant. Oh god the food was like so tasty there...please if you go ratnagiri plzzzz visit it, it's near old Bus station. Walking distance.
Ratnadurg fort
Next we rides our honda activa to ratnadurg fort. The way towards it was so beautiful, I personally enjoy a lot. It was 20-25 mins from old Bus station. The view was so beautiful from that fort. It was soooo mesmerizing that we decided to spend 2-3 hours there o ly sitting and enjoying the peace with natural scenic beauty.
Bhatya Beach
Then at the end of the day we went to bhatya beach side. It was a beautiful evening, we took bhel-puri and enjoyed the sunset.
For this night we book other hotel, Hotel sea fans in front of Mandvi beach. The hotel was good and having a great view. This day we decided to go Ganpatipule. For that we took a local bus from old bust stop for Ganpatipule, it took 2-3 hours to reach there. The way was good and it cost 150rs for 2 people.
We step down at Ganpatipule and it was 15 min walking from bus stop to Ganpatipule temple. Ohhhhh the temple was so elegant however photography was not allowed so can't click the pictures. Trust me a temple on the shore of ocean gives a different feeling. So we went in, it took hour to get to the main idol and then we went on the beach. It was so clean and beautiful, we roamed for hours there. (2-3 hours is enough for visiting this place)
After getting tired we started back, but in between we found a meuseam and decided to visit. However we were getting late but the meuseam seems interesting. It took an hour to visit meuseam and then we rushed to bus stop. The 40Rs food coupon is must you a kachori with a chutney and modak,I bet you will crave for more. I took only one coupon and was craving for more but due to shortage of time needed to rush.
One suggestion is that don't book ths bus or train on the day you visit Ganpatipule because while coming back the frequency of buses are too low and crowd is too much. We were lucky to reach ratnagiri on time otherwise we must have missed out bus to mumbai that day.
So overall the trip was good. Ganpatipule was best place as per my opinion. 2-3 days are enough for ratnagiri depending on your pace. Overall I will rate 3.5/5 to this trip.
