We saw this mountain running down to a valley, no villages but the locals were up here probably to feed the cattle and herd of horses.
The plain grassland was the best dream we could have had, the campsite with a camp leader welcomed us with waving hands.
We fell on the grass and kissed the ground, yes we craved for some plain ground. Just 24 hours back we were charged as hell and this last walk to the summit was enough to shake our confidence.
This campsite was on a plain mountain with grass for graze and a beautiful river flowing by the side, yes it was back, the one we were following on our way up!
The place had signal and we could make calls since there was no electricity throughout the route most of the mobile phones were off and winters did make the power bank drain faster than ever!
#ProTip – if you are visiting a cold place keep using your phone for clicking pictures or doing something which will keep it warm which won't drain the battery quick also if you are carrying a power bank with you try wrapping it in woolens to keep it warm.
We still managed to make a few calls and soon were hard asleep. The evening snacks and tea was served followed by the regular but tastier dinner and then a bonfire which helped us fight the falling temperature and dry the wet clothes up.
The shooting stars were a cherry on the cake to this beautiful trip which was now coming to an end. The next day trek was last and we were all prepared to leave for our homes as we reach the base camp!
The next day morning was prettier than ever, rains last night had made the ground slushy but the sun now was out from behind the clouds and was giving a beautiful view of this green valley!
Having our breakfast and packing our lunch we then started again but this time with ton of fun, music on the way and dancing with happiness and ecstasy we covered the hardest distance, crossing the flowing river on a single log kept there, falling which we wouldn’t have made through the rocks on which the river bashed making a horrifying sound but the summit had trained us with the worst of the atmospheres.
The life seemed easier and things seemed prettier, soon ending up in the woods with mangroves, we all got happier, resting under the shade of tree we danced and sang on the top of our voices, soon we started coming across the locals and their villages, built on the inclining hill, the houses made of stone, calm at 13:00 was something none of us was habitual of.
Yes, the journey was coming to an end, the joy was soon turning into tears but then those didn’t escape the eyes which were busily embarrassing the huge mountains we tried to conquer and didn’t fail but the respect for nature that day reached to the highest extent.
Mules on their way carrying loads on their back, women carrying the logs for the fire, we craved to see some faces and now we could already smell the pollution in the air.
The ground covered with snow was gone long back the grass also left, we were now walking on this graveled ground, with people staring at us as if we were some aliens walking out of the forest with heavy load luggage on our back and tired faces tanned with heat looking all dirty but the glow and the shine couldn’t be compared, as if our eyes shouted in the high pitched voice, YES WE DID IT!!
Climbing the last escalation we reached a road where we could smell the melting tar caus of the heat so strong. Soon our jeeps arrived, loading the luggage we got in for another ride to the base camp we have been missing, later to the city we have been living in, Mumbai, yes I was missing it!!
