If you have often struggled with heavy baggage on your way to the airport, flying from and to Delhi is all set to get easier with the newly launched doorstep baggage transfer facility! Introduced by the GMR-led Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the facility has been officially launched on February 14th, 2020 at Terminal 3.
As part of DIAL’s endeavour to provide world-class experience to its passengers, the service has been designed to offer a seamless baggage transit facility for all passengers.
Introduced in collaboration with Bengaluru-based ‘CarterX’, you can book your baggage through CarterX website or app or counters at Delhi Airport which can then be picked up from your home in Delhi/NCR Region. The booking facility will soon be introduced from the official Delhi Airport website(www.newdelhiairport.in) as well.
How will this work?
The booking process is surprisingly simple and easy-to-use.
For Departures
• Once you book via any of the available online portals mentioned above, the baggage will be picked up from your home in Delhi/NCR region.
• Post the baggage pickup, each bag will be then secured in separate tamper-resistant sealable bags, which will be marked, and bar coded for easy identification.
• On arrival at the airport, you can finally collect your baggage at the Delhi forecourt area before proceeding for check-in.
• For pick-up and delivery, all necessary information such as date of service, pickup location, flight details etc. will have to be provided along with the service fees to get your baggage back in the arrival/departure area.
For Arrivals
A similar facility will also be available for arrivals at Delhi Airport, in which you can book the service online or at the baggage pick-up and drop counter located on Terminal 3 in the meeters and greeters’ area.The baggage can then be delivered to locations in Delhi/NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and even further till Punjab and Rajasthan.
If you are worried about losing your precious cargo in transit, DIAL has also kept an easy tracking facility post baggage pickup, which can be easily accessed on any phone or tablet. Going forward, the facility will also be extended at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
With a convenient slot based pick-up and delivery, free insurance and 24/7 presence at the airport, the service will start from as low as Rs. 299 depending on your location and number of bags.
