This place is called Alang Ship Breaking Yard. The shipyards at Alang recycle approximately half of all ships salvaged around the world. It is located in Bhavnagar in the state of Gujarat.

No one I have ever heard from Malaysia have already been to this place. I knew about this place when I google about this famous photographer, Steve McCurry. He covered a story in Gujarat about this one place which have huge and massive a mount of ships being stripped off.

Also my friend told me about this place in Gujarat, so I went here to look it by myself. The journey was not easy I must say. Landed in Delhi, I took the train to Ahmedabad for 18 hours and have to take another 6 hours train ride to Gujarat and another 2 hours of rickshaw to this place.

Little did I know, this place is not safe for tourist because there were none here. I couldn't even get to check in to the hotel because they were rejecting me from booking.

About this place, it was amazing to see the ships but nothing like the one from the photos I saw on the magazine. It was totally different but still quite surreal to be there.

Since the photos came out back then, the NGO Greenpeace made a statement to shutting the this place out because of the pollution it create but the local community is not happy with it. So they built a wall to prevent anyone to see what happened inside.
