I am from Odisha. I make at least a couple of trips every year. I keep discovering something new with every trip. Its got the beaches, wildlife, lakes, mountains, historic cities, temples and last but not the least, the most simplest of people you will ever find. Its safe to move about and pocket friendly as well. A quick five day trip should include Bhubaneswar, Puri, Chilika Lake, Konark. Do not miss Satapada. Take an early morning boat ride to see dolphins and go to the point where the lake meets the sea. Swargadwar beach and Puri beach (towards the lighthouse) are amazing beaches to spend your entire day. While you are at the Puri beach, do not miss the guy selling samosas and madan Mohan (a sweet). Puri to Konark drive is one of the most scenic drives you can come across. And yes, don't miss the historic Sun Temple in Konark.
