It is the most popular hill station as it is the only hill station in Haryana- Panchkula District. It is a lovely scenic destination situated at an altitude of around 1267 m above sea level. The dense forests and lush greenery of this place would definitely rejuvenate your soul. The best time to visit Morni Hills is March to September. It’s a perfect spot to escape the heat and crowd from Chandigarh. As it surrounded by thick evergreen forests, the hill station remains cold all throughout the year.

We started our journey from Ambala cantt in morning. Took the road to Morni hills, after an hour we drove in a hilly area. The drive is a little difficult given the steep narrow road towards the end. We reached Morni by around 10 AM and headed towards Tikkar Tal.

Tikkar Taal is a large and beautiful lake lying in the lap of Shivalik hills. There is a wooden walkway above the lake with a hall at the end where you can stand to admire the lake beneath. You can also walk on the grassy ground alongside the lake or can try your strength on the tyre climbing wall. Boating facility is also available. We do paddle boating which is very interesting. Situated along the lake there is a resort run by Haryana Govt. and you can have snacks or food at their restaurant. A bit slow service but do try their Chinese, it's yummy.

After spending some time there, we proceeded to Adventure Park. You can park your car and walk through the entrance and get tickets. There are some adventure activities to do here like rope climbing, bridge crossing, bhul bhulaiya(labyrinth), scary room(which wasn’t scary though), tree house etc. It is a great picnic spot for families. As we saw many families enjoying their home cooked food in big casseroles. Also there is a canteen but it has limited food items. This park was constructed by the Haryana tourism department to boost tourism in the Morni Hills.

After that we move toward the waterfall. There is a trekking route which is very slippery and rough. After half an hour of trekking we reached the waterfall and was very beautiful. I clicked lots of pictures and spent 1 hr back at the lake. It was the time for the sun to prepare for returning back to its home and its orangey reflection was enhancing the beauty of the lake.

This is my one day trip to morni hills in chandigarh.
