Thailand, formally known as Siam is one of the inexpensive countries to travel with. Out of 76 provinces, We(Myself and my friend Malar) picked few places to hang out with. Apart from the party and bustling nightlife (Which we usually think of Thailand), there is another side of beauty you need to see.

Thailand has so many fascinating places to see and it's pristine temple pulls you in and you can't help but be drawn by its historical architecture and vibrant culture. As the elephant is a national animal and majority religion is Buddhism, we can find a lot of buddha temples and elephant idols. You can see the shining and glittering into buildings when sunlight passes through. Temples and turquoise beaches make you feel proud of making the best decision in life. The places are incredibly photogenic and colorful.

As Thailand is one of the best tourist destinations, you will find always crowdy.so avoid during peak tourist season and go during fewer rainstorms.

Provinces I visited :

>>> Bangkok

>>>Chiangrai

>>>ChiangMai

>>>Krabi

>>>Phi-Phi Island

>>>Phuket

When we grabbed a cab ,this was around 6am

Commute and Accommodation

I pre-booked all my flight trips 3 months ahead of trip costs around INR 21k for up and down and two internal flights and for a bus. For internal, we took a bike and used grab(cab) very less which costs around INR 3000-4000. Cruise costs about INR1400 for the entire trip.

Accommodation is so cheap if you choose hostels. Hotels are a little expensive than the hostel. There are private rooms at dorms still you can get for cheap compared to a hotel. If we are staying for sleep why waste so many bucks on that. As a female and first time backpacker, I chose mostly female sharing rooms at hostels. It costs me around INR 5k. I booked all my hostels/private room via booking app . You can mingle with people who come from different parts of the world.I made few foreign friends in this trip and still have touch with them.

This is called tuk-tuk. They scam you for more rates and you can bargain with grab (taxi) calculation. At night this was so much fun to ride with

Foods

Thailand has wonderful street foods where you nibble on fried insects, bite crocodiles and many things. There is a seven-eleven department store available every 200mts and you will find almost most of the snacks. They have the best coffee and smoothie where I survived with this most. Food costs INR 200-400 per day but we tried Indian food which costs INR 1000 for dinner alone. You find very inexpensive alcohol and massage over there. Massage costs INR400-600 for foot and 1000 for the body. Check the place before you go over there.

This was 25 bhaat for french toast and 50 bhaat for cold coffee

We had totally 60k inr .As we couldn't participate any activity , we had 10k at the end of day. I bought branded bag for 6k and remaining exchanged with my friend. The first trip which is complete DIY and we had no knowledge about the place , went successfully because of the proper planning .

The people were too kind and I feel that Thailand is one of the safest countries for a solo female traveler. Traveling lights my soul and feel energized and give confidence enough to face the world. The first travel digs my curiosity more to explore more places around the world. :)

Tips /Checklists

1. Visa: After you book tickets, check on the visa process. I opted for a visa on arrival and photo needs to be kept according to the instruction and necessary documents need to be carried.Check the link here to know more about it.

2.Currency: Thailand's currency is bhaat. Have some bhaats which are needed for visa purpose and international credit/debit cards where major cities have options to withdrawn amounts.

3. Dresses: Before visiting any country, Check for the culture. In Thailand most of the temples follow some rules, you are not supposed to wear a dress which is below knee length and sleeveless.we need to respect culture so carry stole /jacket which you can modify according to that.

4. Chargers: Better to carry adapter but most of the adapters work well. Carry a power bank which is much needed.

5. Best season to visit: During April and May, Thailand is a bit hot and you can easily get a sunburn. Check for seasons before you plan and carry necessary clothes and items.

6.Other Activities: There are so many activities to do like scuba diving, snorkeling, paragliding and so on. Price is affordable only. Each ride costs around 1500 bhaat depend on the place you choose. Phuket is a bit costly compared to other provinces

I have another post about the places that I visited which you can see here :) Happy traveling.
