H.H. the Dalai Lama's Main Temple

Varsha Prajapati
After spending some time there, we headed towards the Dalai Lama Temple at McLeod Ganj. The beauty of this temple lies in the peace and solitude one experiences there. The whole environment of this temple is very peaceful & enchanting. People come here to meditate and pray and many meditating monks can be seen around the temple. The temple consists of many prayer wheels with “OM MANI PADME HUM” inscribed all over it. It is supposed to be pushed clockwise while walking around the temple, which is a part of ritual of this temple.

Located just a walk away from the Mcleod Ganj's bus stop, Dalai Lama Temple is an extremely beautiful and peaceful place. Dalai Lama Temple Complex is open all days from sunrise to sunset. You can spot Lama's meditating, praying on beads and chanting.

Our last stop was the Dalai Lama’s main temple. Our driver dropped us for shopping at the local market. We bought Tibetan flags, key rings representing tibetan culture.

H.H the Dalai Lama TempleOn 24th morning headed to #hisholinessthedalailamatemple passing through the market and found temple was pretty simple without much decoration, entrance is free of charge. When I reached the temple, there wasn't any crowd and the monk there helped me with the entrance and exit points of the temple.
