Engelberg

Engelberg is an alpine village in central Switzerland. After coming down from the mountain top, I took out some time to photograph the magnificent village of 'Engelberg' , situated at the base of Mt.Titlis, starting point of multiple adventure activities , which is surrounded by lofty mountains. These villages are so beautiful that even wallpaper will be put to shame. Wherever you look around , it is endowed with nature's bounty; justifying the attention it draws from the tourist community world wide.

On to Engelberg, our Mount Titlis tour took an exciting turn. Mount Titlis is a glacier paradise at a height of 4000 metres and offers an amazing snow and ice experience on the highest viewpoint in Central Switzerland. We ascended to the peak on various cable cars, including the Rotair revolving cable car. The Rotair cable car is the real highlight of the Mount Titlis tour and provides stunning views of the dazzling snow-capped peak and spotless white snowfields. The high Alpine panorama is magnificent and it's a sight that will be forever in our memory.
Not Just Travelling
Engelberg was surrounded by infinite snow-clad alps and every now and then a red colored Euro rail could be seen passing through the mountains. I dropped my luggage at the hotel and explored some nice restaurants nearby.

We had to go down in the same way as we came up. Took rotating cable car first and Titlis Express to reach the starting point in Engelberg. I desperately was in need of a hot coffee and luckily, we found an Indian restaurant right there & ordered coffee. It was tasty and we started immediately once everyone from our bus were back. Then we drove back to our hotel, had dinner and relaxed.

The next morning, we went to Mt. Titlis near Engelberg, perhaps the most beautiful, place in Switzerland. Everything seemed perfect about the valley. We had huge mountains, colourful houses around us, streams and rivers flowing by. You couldn't have asked for anything more, well, except better weather. It was raining when we got there, because of which many rides at Mt. Titlis were closed as well. You can reach Mt. Titlis through a cableway from Engelberg. It is famous for having the world's first rotating cable car. However, it's main claim to fame lies in the fact that parts of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le jayenge were shot here. There's a standee of SRK and Kajol over here as well, much to the delight of Bollywood fans.
