Jaipur, the capital city of the state of Rajasthan is one of the vibrant cities of the country. Rich with heritage and grandeur, this city is famous for its magnificent forts, walls with intricate artwork and designs. The city is also known as the Pink city owing to pink coloured walls of most of the buildings in the city. Amongst the places to be, the Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Amer Fort, Jaigarh are doable in a day. In the evening, unwinding by the Pichola lake and staring out at the Jal Mahal is quite relaxing.

My trip was during the summers and I found that the hype of the hear being all consuming and terrifying to be slightly overrated. Maybe since am accustomed to the heat, it didn't feel so bad, but overall, it felt quite fine.

My stay was at Zostel Jaipur. Amazing place to be, to meet amazing people and make new friends. Peaceful and affordable.

Food is not an issue here. Easily available to satiate a variety of palates, the food here is inherently spicy though.

Shopping opportunities galore. Do be mindful to bargain on the prices though.
