Jaipur also called as the Pink City. The city which is surrounded by rugged hills and fascinating royal heritage and evocative well-preserved buildings. You can reach Jaipur easily as it is well-connected across all states of India through airport and indian railways.

Day 1

I started my journey from Ambala cantt to Jaipur by the train. I was very excited to explore this heritage city, visit fort and Tasty Rajasthani food. I booked my hotel very close to pink city as everything is near from there. After reaching Jaipur, I booked a cab from Jaipur railway station to my hotel. Because of a very long journey, I decided to relax and explore Jaipur from the next day.

First, i Visited Hawa Mahal ( The palace of winds ) which is a 5 story beautiful building having 953 windows through which air flows and keeps the palace cool. This was made to facilitate an airy palace for the women. I spent almost 1 hr there and clicked some pictures. Then I walked towards the city palace.

The City Palace in Jaipur which is a royal house having amazing architecture shows a beautiful blend of Rajput, European and Mughal style. The main thing which is quite iconic, is the set of royal archway doors located in the centre. They have a café which serves up some amazing melt in the middle chocolate muffins and you can see some traditional puppet shows. While in Jaipur you can not miss the City Palace as this is the landmark and the center point. After that, I went to Jantar Mantar which is very close to City palace.

Jantar Mantar is the name given to the series of 5 wonderful and beautiful structures built in Delhi, Ujjain, Varanasi, Mathura and Jaipur. If you are good in science then this place is for you, there many geometric devices available which are used to measure time, orbits, equator line and many more also, a world largest sun dial are there which shows correct present time.

Ended my day by visited Albert hall museum. It has a rich collection of artifacts including paintings, jewelry, carpets, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, and works in crystal. The collection includes coins from the Gupta, Kushan, Delhi Sultanate, Mughal and British periods. An Egyptian mummy is the main attraction of this museum. The museum takes on a whole new facade as the night falls and the entire building glows with yellow lights, which looks extremely beautiful.

Next day i went to Amer Fort which is 11 km from Jaipur city center. I would recommend starting your day off here in the morning to beat the heat and the crowds! It is a very big fort. A Royal elephant ride is available here, which is very exciting. Fort has beautiful architecture. i spent almost 2 hrs and clicked lots of pictures. Then i visited jaigarh fort, through the tunnel from Amer fort, Tunnel journey was very amazing.

Jaigarh Fort is connected to Amber fort and it was built as a defensive fort and used to house weapons and other artillery. It has world largest cannon on wheels(Jaivana). It also has a museum which portary’s the Raja having his meal, several women siting together, a thali ready to be served and various other statues that gives you an insight into the life those days. It also has the assembly hall for the warriors. A three kilometer walk through this fort is a treat in real sense.

Nahargarh Fort which is present on the edge of Aravalli Hills through you can see the bird eye view of Jaipur. The entry ticket costs INR 50 for Indian nationals. Nahargarh fort is open from 10 a.m. and the gates of the fort closes in the evening at 05.30 p.m. The visitors are not advised to stay later than that because the fort is surrounded by dense deciduous forest. The forest is part of Nahargarh Biological Park and home to many wild animals.

Ended my day by capturing the iconic view of Jal Mahal situated in the middle of Mansagar Lake which is very amazing. Apart from the small market stalls and camel rides there is not much else to do at the Jal Mahal. A typical visit to the Jal Mahal will be less than 30 minutes, enough time to take some photos.

Next morning, I started my day by visting Birla Mandir, known as Laxmi Narayan Temple built completely from white marble. I went for darshan, took blessing and clicked some pictures.

After that, I went to Bapu Bazar which is famous for all traditional shops, beautiful handmade products, famous lac bangles and semi precious stone jewellerys. Also a very tasty lassi and pani puri shops. "Travelling is best way to experience different culture and explore the world"

It was such an overwhelming experience that I didn't want to go back. but I had to. After spending my beautiful last day in Jaipur, i catched my train and headed back to ambala cantt.
