San Francisco is one of my favorite places to go because no matter how many times you visit, there's always something new to do or see or EAT. I've found the best way to book is through Expedia with a flight/hotel package. Between me and my BFF, we spent about $350 on a roundtrip flight and two nights of hotel in a really central area. The flight times gave us three WHOLE days to wander. We also got a three day Muni passport which gave us unlimited bus, street car, and cable car rides which covered virtually ALL of our transportation. We purchased two tours- one city, and one boat. One of my favorite things to do in a big city is take a Hop On Hop Off tour. Things look different on a double decker bus! It's also a great, easy way to get around and there are so many different companies that offer these tours. We got a 2 for 1 deal!
Clearly a MUST DO on any San Francisco sightseeing trip. If you're going over the bridge on a tour bus, bundle up! It's windy and cold!
Gorgeous place to stop by! Nice for a stroll, it's in a residential area away from a lot of the businesses.
Awesome little boutique hotel. Really close to Market St, Chinatown, and Union Square. Very reasonable, good amenities, and super cute.
We wanted a workout, so we did this backwards. We walked up from Fisherman's Wharf and then hiked UP Lombard Street after taking photos from the bottom. There are amazing views at the top!
For me, no trip to the Bay would be complete without going to Ghirardelli Square to wander and have a great sundae. Try the larger shop towards the back of the complex, it's more open and less crowded. The stores also give away free chocolate!
My BFF loves clam chowder so we had to stop for the bread bowls. My personal favorite thing to order was the chili cheese bread bowl for breakfast. Chili cheese, eggs, and bread. Can't beat that combo!
Of all the Chinatowns, this one reminds me the most of Hong Kong (minus the fish blood all over the alley). Great food and some fun souvenir shopping!
One of my fave things to do on a trip is have afternoon tea. This spot is wonderful and quaint in SoMa. Got a Travelzoo special and it was definitely worth it! Great selection of teas and sandwiches.
Great way to see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Wonderful city views. Check Groupon, Living Social, and Travelzoo first! There are always specials! We did the Escape from the Rock cruise and it was 2 for 1!
