A large number of visitors come here everyday to offer prayers or to explore the architectural beauty of these ancient temples. The main temples situated here are the Sri Karkuvel Aiyanar Temple, Aazhigudi Maradachan Temple, Santhana Mariyamman Temple and the Alamvaratha Nayagi Sivan Temple. Many temple festivals are celebrated here too out of which the most famous is the Kalari Vettu. The narest airport from this town is the Tuticorin Airport.
