Avalabetta is a good weekend gateway from Bengaluru City.
It's not much of the trekking but more of the hilltop view..
We went on bikes, started at 4 in the morning, witnessed the sunrise on the way and reached the place around 7:00 AM as we stopped at the airport as well as some tea shop for some refreshments.
The way to this place is very beautiful and one can easily navigate to the route provided by GPS.
We couldn't resist to stop at a few feilds on the way as they were Soo beautiful.
Once we reached, there were stairs to some extent then just a climb through the rocks, the view from the top is fabulous.
There is one temple at the top so one can see many local folks offering prayers.
The place has many sides one can go and enjoy the view from..
Once we climbed to "the famous cliff" we found out it wasn't as dangerous as it looked in the pictures.
To our surprise, when we stepped on the cliff end, our legs were shaking, everybody was just going on the cliff end for a minute or two, posing for few good pictures and was coming back as it was scary.
There is no rope, no railing to stop you from falling at the wrong side.
Better to sit and pose than to stand and risk it.
Once we got our pictures clicked, it was a moment of feeling gutsy because a lot many people saw that cliff and didn't go near the end as it was too scary for the ones afraid of heights.
All in all it was a fun escape from the whole week of the workplace stress.
