
When you are in Barcelona, there's always something to see nearby around the neighbourhood, jewels of home-grown Catalan architecture, modernism and contemporary architecture, markets that are a treat for the senses, treasures of the ancient Roman and medieval city, parks where you can unwind.
Having spend around 2 months at Barcelona...
Time to walk around, explore the beautiful city over the weekend with travel lens, T10 transport card, power bank, tripod.
Booked the cab via mytaxi app started the day at 5.30am from Tic Gardens
Sunrise the sky paints with gold colors and joyfully dances to the music of morning breeze. The view was amazing.
I plugged my ear phone and tuned to song Calma.
There was a open gym across too. Morning runners starting with easy runs and I walked toward Port Vell.







On the way to Port Vell as morning rays kissed , captured the usual busy routes.
Did you know that Christopher Columbus chose to disembark in Barcelona harbour when he returned from his voyage to America?.











... steeped in history from both Roman and Medieval times; the remains of which can still be seen today.
I could feel the weight of history. You can't walk around without perceiving it

Camp Nou meaning new field, is the home stadium of FC Barcelona since its completion in 1957



Took the metro to Plaça Catalunya and bus towards beach again for lunch break
when the fountains start dancing, all tourists gathering around it with their phones and music singing .. Stunning light show










Late night after being mesmerize by Magic Fountain of Montjuic went for dinner at La Lola.
Staff was really effecient and friendly.
Vinny made it special. He helped with queries related to the menu and select the right one.
Croquetas Pollo, fritura del Mar, paella mixta were tasty, served hot.





After dinner time for walk.. Nothing can be better than La Rambla
Folklore says that if you drink from this famous fountain at the top of La Rambla you will fall in love with Barcelona and always return to the city



Finally reached room, and next day awaits.
5.45 am set out for metro to Vallacarca and walk to Park Guell
designed by famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, a public park filled with gardens and unique architectural features
Reach early morning to avoid any entrance fees




From park Guell take the metro from Vallacarca to Call d' Hebron, purchased a combine ticket 12 euro and boarded the bus
Used the T10 card and all set for next destination
a modernist manor house designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí ,using rectilinear forms rarely seen in his other work


After a light breakfast took the metro from Penitent to
Passeig de Gracia
...a proclamation of joy, a canvas of marine inspiration, a dream world that evokes nature and fantasy

Gaudí's inspiration: from ocean waves to a variety of specific mountains, even a mountain crest with clouds




Took the L5 metro and then L3 metro to Fontana for dinner
After dinner took metro to Penitent and bus to Bunker
Panoramic views of Barcelona from Spanish Civil War bunkers where anti-aircraft guns were installed.


Barcelona indeed a city unique in its location and beauty. In every walk one receives far more than he seeks...
