Recently, I'd been to Cambodia on my first solo backpack trip.It was a great experience. I visited 4 cities in span of 12 days. Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Kampot-kep. In those 12 days, I met many people from different countries, different origins, different cultures etc. I tried variety of delicious food. Got robbed in a bus, lost my way somewhere.

Thrilling experiences. Overall one hell of a trip!!

You can look at some quick glimpses of my trip in the video below.

Once you are in Cambodia, you cant miss the Great Angkor Wat and a phenomenal view of sunrise.

There are many temples in the area. So you have to have minimum 1 whole day to explore some important temples. The teples like Angkor wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm, Banteay Srei, Ta samre etc. are big and touristy. You can get 1 day, 3 day or 7 day pass according to your requirement.

Tuol Sleng genocide Centre infamously known as S21. In 1976, the Khmer Rouge renamed the high school s21 and turned it into a torture, interrogation and execution centre. Of the 14,000 people known to have entered ,only 7 survived. You can get the details of how the killings had taken place and other info on wikipedia.

On this place the guided tours/audio tours are available so that one can take more time and understand what had happened there.

This is another horrific place. There are number of killing Fields in Cambodia. The Phnom Penh killing Fields is one of the biggest.these are the sites where collectively more than 1 million people were killed brutally and burried by the Khmer Rouge regime during 1975-1979. The audio tour is a must.

Another small town on the beach side, 40 kms away from Kampot. The Crab market is very famous. You will be thrilled to see the amount of fish catche they get every day. The road to kep is excellent and very well maintained. I loved the road and the blue waters. U also get the view of Phu Quoc islends from there.

The abandoned french colonial homes are another attraction in this beautiful town. U should not miss the sunset near the Crab statue.
