I was sitting with one of my friend and we were discussing about our office schedules. Suddenly my cousin gave me an idea to go for an outing in coming weekend. Obviously we will not waste our weekends because of no bookings and one of the best weekend gateway Dehradun came to our mind.
Tickets were not available and therefore we decided our trip to start from holy city
Haridwar.
Haridwar - situated on bank of river Ganga which is one of the most sacred and worshipped river by Hindus is always enjoyable. We visited haridwar friday night and explored different cuisines in restaurants near "Har Ki Paudi". We checked in at nearby hotel Ganga inn which was quiet affordable and with all basic necessities.
We woke up early morning to take a bath at Ganga and enjoyed alot with different pilgrims. We enjoyed visiting different temples and had Chole Bhature in breakfast which were served in Leaves. Serving style was quiet impressive and we visited Mansa Devi for a trolley ride.
We came back to hotel and packed our bags for next destination i.e. Dehradun. We took roadways bus and enjoyed the scenic view while going to Dehradun. Mountains on one side and river on other will take your heart out of you to get relaxed as well as thrilled.
Finally we reached Dehradun and directed towards Shastradhara. Beautiful place where you can see water flowing through different steps and is quiet adventurous. Higher you go up on these steps, more you enjoy the water. We enjoyed there and then relaxed there for an hour. You can visit Lachivala and enjoy the road as climate there is too good and you will get a break from your regular office schedules.
For coming back to
Delhi, we can easily get volvo and you will reach back in 6 - 7 hours. So if you're tired of busy schedules, come and visit this weekend Gateway to explore the place and to relax your mind too.
