Hornadu, also known as Horanadu, is a Hindu holy locale and Panchayat village located in Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka, India. The deity at the Annapoorneshwari Temple at Hornadu is Annapurneshwari. The main deity of the goddess was put in place by Adi Shankaracharya; the new deity of goddess Annapurneshwari was consecrated in the temple in 1973.

It was the summer season and I was searching for the perfect weekend getaway from Bengaluru, then me and my cousins decided to go Hornadu,Sringeri and Chikmaglur . After some research, we found out that this places are nice to visit and have some sort of divine feeling and relaxation .

My Ravi bhava took the initiative and he contacted travel agency and booked Tempo Traveller for this trip . I and My Sister Poonam booked all the accommodations during the trip.

Finally our journey started at 7.30 am from Home. The cool breeze had already filled my heart with a positive vibe. With beautiful highway roads and loud music the journey gained momentum.

The hornadu where the hotel bookings were made was about 320km from Bangalore. We took the Bangalore-Hassan-Belur-Chikmanglur route. With very few stops in between, we reached Hornadu by 5:30 pm. we decided to have lunch in Hassan and . we could find nice hotel and finished lunch . I could not recall the name.

Finally we reached our destination Hornadu- at 5:30 pm. This hotel is bit away from the main road. we walked for around 500m to reach hotel and finally we checked into hotel and had some rest.

The temple of Adishakthyamaka Sri Annapoorneswari is 400 years old. The name of this temple itself means "feeding one and all".Annaprasadam is served to all the people who visit this temple.

Sirimane Falls, Kigga.

We started our journey towards sirimane falls after lunch in Sringeri Sharadamba temple . The cool breeze had already filled my heart with a positive vibe. With beautiful roads and loud music the journey gained momentum.

When in Sringeri, one could spare approx. two hours to spend time and visit Sirimane waterfalls which is about 17 kms away. The approach road to Sirimane falls is very beautiful with lot of greenery although last few patches on the road are typical Malenadu rain affected type. From the road there is a deviation as you near shringeri from Kudremukh, to the left. Its 13kms from this turn. The road is in good shape, but motorable.

Best time to visit Sirimane falls is post monsoon. There is ample parking space and a few shops selling tea, juice and some fast food. Entry ticket for Adult = INR 20 and kids = INR10 to visit Sirimane falls. We need to walk down 130 steps to get into the water which falls with Jacuzzi effect.

We reached Sirimane falls afternoon .I got nice feeling at all after visiting Sirimane falls as it is very enchanting. The place below the falls is easily approachable with few slippery rocks which are also sharp at some places. With steps your way to the beneath of water fall to experience free Jacuzzi beats.

After reaching the falls, we see that the water is not so much as it was not the rainy season. But, we had enough water to play and get ourselves wet under the Ice cold water to the fullest satisfaction.

Finally it became dark,we came up and had a nice fruits and some cold drink and departed towards Chikmaglur at 5 pm and reached chikmaglur by 8 pm ,we had a accommodation in our relative home ,they served nice palav and lot of other items .The dinner was awesome and we had a good rest .
