While for most travellers, planning a trip starts with zeroing in on places to visit and experiences to try, I spend hours trying to find the right outfit and figuring out spots we can shoot at. Yes, I travel with my fashion blogger girlfriend and it is a pain in the a**.
A public notice before I start with my rant – the views expressed in this article are not meant to demean all the amazing bloggers out there, including my girlfriend.
Here's a quick glimpse of how life ends up looking like when you travel with a blogger:
Words like packing light don't exist in your travel dictionary. Planning how to fly with our loaded bags without having to pay extra – that's more our scene!
We never go to places we want to. Is it Instagram-worthy? Yes? I'll take it!
Who takes two hours to get dressed for a buffet breakfast? Us!
Normal people eat their food when it's on the table. We, on the other hand, go click-click!
Even if we end up going to the moon, all our pictures will always feature us! ALWAYS. Suck it, landscapes!
As a thumb rule, I am never the better looking of the two. No matter how much I try to dress up, I am always overshadowed and end up looking like a potato...
...and how do you even match up to someone who changes a hundred thousand outfits in a day? Someone kill me already!
When you travel with a fashion blogger who documents everything on social media, you are not allowed to dislike anything! After all, it's all about spreading the love. Bite me, I say!
In the end, as unreal as it may sound, we actually end up spending more time on the phone than we do with each other. At least one of us, that is.
Despite of all that I have to go through when I travel with her, my girlfriend is still my favourite travel partner! In fact, thinking about all the crazy stuff we end up doing when we travel together has made me want to set off on yet another adventure!
