Stok kangri Expedition

Tripoto
1st Sep 2018

After completing Rupin pass trek(15000 feet) in sep 2017 and Spiti trek (14500 feet) in Jan 2018, my crave to reach on higher peak got stronger. This hunger showed me my next destination that was none other than Stok Kangri, India's highest trekkable peak.
Stok Kangri  (20,190 ft)is the highest mountain in the Stok Range of the Himalayas
8 day long journey starts with arrival at Leh from Delhi via flight on 1st sep 2018. After two days of acclimatisation in Leh ( 11,000ft), Mesmerizing trek for Stok Kangri peak started on 3rd day from Stok village which is 30 min far from leh. it took three days to reach base camp (16,339 ft) from the stok village.
Final climbing to the peak was started on 6th day at 10:00 pm night. We reached on top at morning 7:00 am after 9hours of continuous climbing. It was -15C and we were at 20190 feet. Being on top and looking around  was like living our dream. .
Out of group of 15 trekkers, only 9 could able to make it. It was completely a team work where we supported each other during all difficulties.
Base camp to base camp we trekked for 15 hours without any halt. These 15 hour were filled with glaciers, deep valleys, snow storm, dark night and fight & persistency with ourself to reach on Top and finally we made it.
We finished it on 08 day at Stok village.
