Mark Twain sensibly quoted, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”
There is not just one, but plenty of benefits of travelling. From creating memories to creating great stories, from meeting strangers to building everlasting friendships, from experiencing cultures to embracing differences, from being considerate to being compassionate and then you realise you’re not the same person. You learn to tear down your prejudices. You learn that all the people around the world no matter how different they may seem due to the cultures, races, religions, etc. – We are all fundamentally the same. You may not just learn travel lesson during your trips but maybe a life lesson.
Leaving the spiritual benefits of Travelling, let me show you how advantageous it to travel.

You make your own story when you travel which you can share with the world. That’s some real stuff and people love to read that kind of content. It’s something everyone can relate to.
4. You become more manageable
Travelling teaches you that life does not always go the way you plan it. You may have to find alternate routes to reach your destination. It helps you become more adapted and open minded, making you more neutral in your everyday life. You learn time management, your communication and interaction skills improve, you learn to protect yourself.
5. Travelling teaches you to be more Patient
At times, you take that wrong turn and find yourself standing in long a queue for a bus, a plane or a train ticket. Or, your train or flight is late or rescheduled or you just missed the bus by few minutes. You may meet people who intervene your space. There could be times when you don’t want to talk but have no option. These situations come as opportunities from which you learn to handle uncertainties of life. One learns to stay calm in such frustratingly slow situations, remain patient, calm in all situations.
6. Travel makes you Humble
During your travel, you may encounter people with nothing yet living abundant joyful lives. You will question yourself, what are the things I am focusing on, why are they taking all my time and attention. Trust me, they are all not that important, only a few things in life are necessary – Be Happy!
7. Deepens your connection with self and others
You meet new people when you travel to the unknown and seek guidance from people you meet along, this creates a sense of connectedness. Making such connections also helps to deepen the ones you already have.
