Dyo finds a mention in Jim Corbett's book, The Temple Tiger And More Man-eaters Of Kumaon published in 1954. The famous hunter and naturalist was hosted by Sah Ji, a local, at his ancestral home. Today that home has been refurbished into Dyo - The Organic Village Resort in Mukteshwar.

At Dyo, you will find a fair blend of a luxurious and country life experience. The resort is perched high atop the Amravati Estate, surrounded by orchards of plums, peaches, apricots and wild local berries. How to reach: Mukteshwar is 350km from New Delhi and 50km from the famous hill station of Nainital. Taxis are available from Kathgodam, the last railhead connecting Kumaon to the rest of India.

This is one of the prominent resorts in Uttarakhand and has been a landmark for locals since it was built in 1920. Chevron Fairhavens stands at a short uphill walk from the prominent Mall Road circling the Nainital Lake.
