Ever wondered where the sons of Lord Rama used to live after departure of Sita from Rama.

Bithoor is said to be the birth place of the lord Rama’s son Lav and kush.

The saint who wrote the epic Ramayana in Sanskrit Maharishi Valmiki also resided here.

After turning into a saint from a dacoit.

Rama's son and the Sita took shelter in the Ashram of Maharishi Valmiki after getting exile, where two prince Lav and kush were born .

If you are seeking out for the place which is away from city Chaos and offers some peace of mind near the metropolitan cities of Kanpur & Lucknow.

Bithoor can be that place. The place is less famous than Ayodhya or Allahabad but not less historically or religiously important than these cities.

Bithoor fort is historically important as It belonged to Nana saheb. He made the fort his headquarters during the 1857 revolt.

The plots were conceived to attack the british regiment here by Rani Laxmi bai, Tatya tope, and nana saheb.

The place has beautiful ghats and Hindu Ashrams.

This Ashram is where the famous hindu saint lived and the two sons of Lord Rama Lav and Kush were born.

This memorial complex was built by nana saheb peshwa 2nd .

2. Bramhavart ghat:

Bramhavart ghat is known to be the place where the Brahma did the Ashwamedha Yajna after which the place was called the bramhavart ghat.

It is also said that the Brahma created the first humans Manu and Shatrupa.

The ghats are a serene and calm space for you to clear your head away from the monotonous routines of daily life.

There are also small boats available for boat rides in Ganga,

people also take a dip in the river before visiting the temple because according to Hindu belief,

a dip in the Ganges is said to rid one of their worldly sins.

The ghat is made from a striking red sandstone with ancient architecture which is the most prominent feature of the ghat, and where the ghat gets its name from;

with Patthar translating to stone in Hindi.

The ghat also has a small temple devoted to Lord Shiva.

Set against the backdrop of the idyllic Ganges,

this place has a calming effect on all its visitors. Visitors also take a dip in the Ganges occasionally.

Headquarter fort of the Nana saheb the legendary freedom fighter. From here he

plotted the attack & revolt in the british regiment as a result british army bombed this fort.

Still the remains of the fort tells us the story of the Freedom struggle and that the

freedom came at the price of the legendary revolutionaries’ life.

5. Nana saheb Rao park:

The place was earlier known as memorial well this memorial was in the memory of the british women and the children died in the revolt.

Later the location of the park was shifted and known as the Nana saheb rao park where there is a huge Banyan tree where the mass hangings of the Indian soldiers took place.

The park also has a museum and a pool and is quite famous among the locals.

6.Siddhi-Dham Ashram :

The Ashram is a hub for meditation and spiritual activities and has a temple with shrines of Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Lord Hanuman, Goddess Parvati and Goddess Radha.

The Ashram has a stunning garden that has statuettes of deities spread across the garden, it also has a fountain in the garden which is right in front of an artificially create cavern.

It also houses a miniature aquarium with tiger sharks and catfish, in addition to this there is a small encounter which contains a few varieties of exotic birds like Macaws and Cockatoos.

7. ISKCON Temple:

Temple is devoted to Radha and Madhav and has smaller shrines for Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lord Laxman and Lord Hanuman. The temple is an important centre of pilgrimage for the locals and festivals like Diwali, Holi and Janmashtami are celebrated with furore in a grand way. The temple stays open from 4:30 AM - 01:00 PM and 04:00 PM - 08:30 PM and conducts Bhagavad Gita classes daily.

The 25 acre theme park is one of the biggest water parks in the region, just 5 kilometres away from Bithoor. The park has all the latest amenities and has rides and activities for all age groups.

There are various other water parks nearby so this place is not just for religious exploration also you can try quite a fun activities.
