The best way to reach Auli is by taking a flight to Dehradun, and from there take a cab to reach Joshimath. The route is from Dehradun via Rishikesh so you can explore Rishikesh also in between.
It took 12 hours to reach Joshimath as highway expansion was going on, if the road is ok it takes 6-7 Hrs only as the distance is 298 km. In between the journey, there are some viewpoints also like Triveni Sangam at Rudraprayag. The journey from Dehradun to Joshimath is beautiful.After reaching Joshimath we checked in and it was biting cold. We stayed at Tattva Resort and it was a comfortable as well as a beautiful resort. After having breakfast at our resort we left for Auli. There are two ways to reach Auli, one is by taking the road, but there is no surety that the road will be clear. The second way is by taking a cable car, we selected this option. There is a ticket counter at Joshimath from where cable cars are operated and there is a fixed time allotted to each car, the cable car will drop you at Auli and after 4-5 Hrs it will pick you up.

After reaching Auli we started our Skiing practice, Auli is famous for skiing and many tournaments take place here in which there are participants from foreign also. After giving so many tries I was finally able to ski smoothly.
We spent a lot of time there and we missed our cable car, but there are scheduled cars after every 30 mins. so don't worry about it and enjoy this beautiful destination.
After coming back from Auli it was almost evening and we tried roadside food specifically Chaat only and it was tasty. For dinner, we prefer our resort and the food at Tattva is good. After dinner, we decided to enjoy the evening with a campfire.
The third day was our check-out day. It was a beautiful stay and I didn't want to leave.
Before leaving we visited the temple here, the Gaddi from Badrinath temple is placed here for six months as at that time Badrinath temple is closed.
If you want to see snow from March to May. Auli will surely complete your wish.
