As I stepped into the serene premises of Isha Foundation, I could sense a profound sense of peace enveloping me.A typical day at Isha Foundation can be a mix of spiritual practices, exploration, and relaxation.
About Isha Foundation:
Isha Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a spiritual leader and yogi. Located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, it offers a variety of programs and activities aimed at promoting well-being, inner transformation, and spiritual growth.
My Experience:
Adiyogi:
I started my day early in the morning by visiting 112-feet sculpture of Adiyogi (Lord Shiva) surrounded by beautiful mountains, standing tall and majestic. The presence of this iconic symbol of Shiva was awe-inspiring. I took a moment to absorb its significance and immersed myself in its powerful energy. Sitting in contemplation, I found myself in a state of profound stillness, as if time stood still.
Though I preferred a walk towards the place, you can take a bullock cart ride too.
Theerthakunds:
Just after getting your valuables deposited at the counter, you can go for Theerthakunds(the Suryakund for men and the Chandrakund for women).
A dip in these waters brings physical and mental rejuvenation. You cannot carry any bag, mobile or camera but don't forget to carry some cash that you will require to give for the dip and offerings.
Dhyanalinga Temple:
After a dip in the energized pool, I headed to the Dhyanalinga Temple, a serene and powerful space for meditation. Spend some time in silence, soak in the atmosphere, and experience the energy of the temple. You can participate in group meditation sessions or choose to meditate on your own.
The Dhyanalinga is the first of its kind to be completed in over 2000 years. This powerful meditative space does not ascribe to any particular faith or belief system nor does it require any ritual, prayer, or worship.
"Just sitting silently for a few minutes within the sphere of Dhyanalinga is enough to make even those unaware of meditation experience a state of deep meditativeness" – Sadhguru
Ling Bhairavi Temple:
"One who earns the Grace of Bhairavi neither has to live in concern or fear of life or death, of poverty, or failure. All that a human being considers as well being will be his if only he earns the Grace of Bhairavi" -- Sadhguru
I payed my obeisance to Linga Bhairavi and participated in the Aarti. The overall experience is amazing and very well organised throughout the foundation, Also volunteers are always available to help you.
Lunch:
A delicious lunch awaited me at one of the on-site eateries called the Pepper Vine Eatery. It is Isha’s very own cafeteria, open from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm every day. A steady supply of fresh fruit juices, milk, tea, coffee and snacks are always available to visitors.
The array of vegetarian dishes, bursting with flavors, satisfied both my taste buds and my conscience. Nourished and content, I felt ready to delve deeper into the offerings of the foundation.
Isha Shoppe:
Next to the Pepper Vine, we visited Isha Shoppe for some shopping. At this place you can buy organic items, clothes, some souvenirs you wish to buy.I bought the lovely OM tshirt from this place
Further, I embarked on a leisurely nature walk watching the beautiful hills. The lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature created a harmonious environment.
Adiyogi Laser Show:
As the sun began to set, I made my way to the designated area for the Adiyogi laser show. This is a must visit show when you are visiting Isha foundation. The show starts around 7:30 and leaves you completely spellbound.
They gracefully traced the contours of the majestic Adiyogi statue, seemingly breathing life into its form. The colors, vibrant and radiant, reflected the essence of Shiva, evoking a sense of divinity and timeless wisdom. The laser projections along with the melodious "Sounds of Isha" painted a vivid tapestry of ancient yogic traditions, the origins of yoga, and the transformative power of inner exploration. As the last note of the music resonated, a profound silence settled upon us all. I stood there, in awe of the beauty and the spiritual significance that I had just witnessed. It was an experience that touched not only my eyes and ears but also my heart and soul.
Dinner at Bhiksha Hall:
It was time for dinner so I headed to the Bhiksha Hall where satvic delicious meals are served. Please make sure to maintain silence within the hall.
Once you are done with your meal you need to wash the utensils used by you in the designated area.
After having this delectable dinner, I hopped on the bus towards my stay within Isha Yoga Centre (which was called Shivapadam cottage). You can book this via their website few days prior to your visit.
Overall, the entire experience was truly remarkable for me.
