Day 1

Dawki river or Umngot river is famous for its crystal clear water. But water doesn't remain clear throughout the year as it gets dirty in the rainy season. So the best time to go is in winters.

HOW TO REACH :

To reach Dawki first you have to come to Shillong. Nearest railway station to Shillong is Guwahati. From Guwahati, it is 100km and will take approx 3 hours. You can book private cabs or sharing jeeps from paltan bazaar of Guwahati. From Shillong Dawki is 70Km. For that, you can hire a private cab or sharing gov. Tourism bus ( there is an office near Shillong bus stand from where daily gov. tourism buses go to all the points in Meghalaya). This tour will include four other points apart from Dawki (see picture for other points).

WHAT TO DO :

You can do these things at Dawki :

1)Boating in the river to Bangladesh border

2)Camping by Riverside

3)Fishing

Not much clear as it had rained the day before
