Day 1

Sardar sarovar dam is the largest dam in Gujarat on Narmada river located in Narmada district of Gujarat

Awaited Road trip to Statue of Unity begins from Ahmedabad at 6 Am in the morning. It's exactly 200 km from Ahmedabad and we reached there by 10 Am. I would like to share a few information

A few points

1. Timings are from 9Am to 6Pm

2. Monday's closed

3. Tickets u can buy on the spot or online. The normal pass is 350 Rs and Express pass will cost u 1000 bucks.

4. Boating cost is 250 Rs for 1 hour and Helicopter ride will cost u Rs 2900 for 10 to 12 minutes.

5. The laser show is in the evening

The top view which is about 400 feet, chest region of Sardar statue is a most happening thing where actually u get a Panaromic view of the Sardar sarovar dam and surrounding hills. Second best thing is the helicopter ride which is fun and worth spending though slightly overpriced and third best thing is boating. These 3 things are a must to do things if u really want to enjoy.

As it is India the place is very very overcrowded so try coming early in the morning as possible. Food court is good so eating is not a problem. The car parking and the Hop in bus service is well organized.

Another valuable information for those who wish to drive there personal car inside need to register there vehicle at " Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam" office located at Gandhinagar where your car can get full access and another benefit of that is the dam can bi visited or actually u can walk on it, a more nearer view for that additional dam visit u will have to pay extra 150 Rs ( This is only for those u get there personal car registered at SSNN)

For far travellers there is Narmada Tent city build who wish to stay overnight. There are no other good hotels outside.

If u finish off early then u can visit near by temples the first one is Neelkanth dham mandir of poicha on the banks of river narmada other is kuber bhandari temple which is on the opposite side of the shore of Narmada. U can go by boat. And the last being Shoolpaneshwar mahadev temple which is inside the jungle so that can be adventurous plus if you go in monsoon u will be able to see the Zarwani water falls which is a eye delight to watch
