Beaches, shacks, party are some of the things you are instantly reminded of when you hear the word "Goa". But did you know there are so many things to explore beyond beaches like the nature trails, hidden waterfalls, wildlife sanctuaries and much more.

One such trail is the Sinquerim trail that offers stunning views of the vast ocean and a beautiful sunset.

The trail starts near the Sinquerim fort, also known as the lower Aguada Fort, which has a beach on one side and the trail starting on the other.

You have some incredible view points where you can just sit and witness a sunset and for that the best time to go here is late afternoon. You can also go down the cliff and sit on the rocks with a view of the ocean splashing against the rocks.

The trail is easy and can take upto 2-4 hours to complete, depending on your speed. While hiking, you can also spot ruins of the fort that was built by the Portuguese about 400 years ago. You can spot an old structure that once may have held a giant bell and also old brick steps going down the cliff.

Although this place is no longer a secret, it is still comparatively less crowded. It is advisable to return when it starts to get dark as there is no security around and the trail is open to all.

So add this to your list whenever you are in Goa next and make sure you keep it clean and travel responsibly.
