I'm a woman living in western himalaya all my life surrounded by mighty himalayan peaks around me. My parents would take us to our Village in Uttarakhand in all holidays. So my dream to see the beach shown in hindi cinema that was the place of my dream; I would be jealous when I hear about someone is going Goa. Goa is also a accomplishment and dream for most of the Indians including me. So in Oct 2018 me and my sisters and one niece planned a trip to Goa. Packed our swimwear ready to run on beach play with water would see endless water.
The day came we reached Baga beach and crowded market but my fingers were crossed for beach. I stepped on the beach I couldn't see water but only human heads. My childhood dream to see a beach from the movie Anand song "zindagi kaisi hai Pheli" broke. My whole childhood was a lie about seeing an empty beach. I didn't touch the water it was so dirty and smelly. To keep my niece busy we digged a hole on the sand and put her feet. While digging the sand small papers; cigarette buds and what not was buried in that sand. #overrateddestination
😐At baga beach their was lack of waste management. Some tourist as well people giving massage would throw their garbage their.
😐 Water was extremely dirty and saw a man throwing his babies diaper in that water. (Yeah imagine! Idiot)
😐Hawkers selling food items would irritate you to core You can not sit in peace
😐Too much waste was flowing on the water
😐Stray animals cow and dogs would come and say hello (They have equal right to use beach they are better then humans)
We need responsible tourism; we need people to stop acting stupid.
I also explored some more north Goa beaches more you go towards north less crowded they get. Goa didn't disappoint me Baga beach did; people did.
