We started the day by visiting Sabarmati Ashram. Good place for history aficionados. The view of Sabarmati river from the Ashram is beautiful.

Flower Show at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Center

We went on New Year's eve and the Sabarmati Riverfront had this spectacular flower show. There were stalls by various artisans selling beautiful handicrafts. The place becomes more crowded in the evening since the weather is more pleasant and more stalls can be seen.

You can sit and enjoy the cool breeze from the Sabarmati River. It's quite and peaceful during the day.

A vast, white landscape without boundaries, it seems, the Rann of Kutch is a site to behold.

Enjoy a camel ride.

This gigantic structure gives a panoramic view of the desert.

Instead of visiting the popular Mandvi beach, we decided to visit the Harappan excavation site in Dholavria. It is about 250 kms from Bhuj, but the beautiful, empty, quiet roads, make up for the long distance. There are also parts of the much less visited white desert on the sides of the road.

The ruins of the Harappan civilization we studied in the social science books in class 6th.

This is large salty lake (which almost looks like a sea). Flamingos can be spotted here early in the morning. The lake supposedly dries out and turns to a white desert landscape during the summers.
