My Ahmedabad 4 day Itinerary

Tripoto
Day 1

We had planned a full day in Gujarat Science city and hoped to enjoy thrill ride/simulator, science and space exhibits and 3-d shows. Instead, we got the lacklustre staff, who were not ready to start rides and shows citing minimum person requirement. We going on weekdays could also have been a reason of low crowd, but that being said, still doesn’t justify staff’s behaviour to deny us rides and shows. Spent a total of 3 hours and left the place after lunch.

Boating at Sabarmati Riverfront

We took uber to Sabarmati Riverfront for boating and some quiet time. Uber driver dropped us at Flower garden which was quite far from boating point. Reached boating point after asking people for direction and wandering for around 30 minutes for some motorboat ride experience.

Afterwards, we sat on a bench for around 30 minutes looking at the tranquillity of Sabarmati while eating ice-cream.

Eat and shop at Manek Chowk

Took Uber to Manek Chowk for some mouth-watering and finger-licking Indian chats (Dabelis is a must-try) and some shopping. Manek Chowk is primarily a jewellery market in the morning, and eateries are opened in the night only. So, plan to go on the night only to experience chats.

This is must visit place in Ahmedabad. We were brought face to face with the life of Mahatma Gandhi; his education, struggles, disappointment, failure, achievement. It was serene to spend some time looking at Sabarmati River afterwards.

Day 2

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial

This is another must-visit sight. I was amazed by the use of technology to showcase the life of Sardar Patel. It was fun, informative and interactive.

Auto World Vintage car museum

After taking 40 minutes cab ride, we reached the car museum. It is located a bit far from the city centre. Museum boasts the collection of around 100 cars of early and mid 20th century from the likes of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ford; would be very exciting for car lovers.

There are some thrill rides and a train ride outside the museum, primarily for small children. My niece loved every part of it and had a cute smile throughout. If you have got small kids, do take them for rides. After all, they also deserve some fun time after being dragged from one museum to others.

Day 3

Relax at Riverfront Park

We had some spare time in the evening; went to Riverfront Park; sat on the grass and loved the quiet time. I was overjoyed by the ecstatic view of Sabarmati River in the moonlight. Sabarmati looks even more beautiful at night.

Kankaria Lake Front is developed around the lake which hosts multiple attractions like the zoo, mini-golf, balloon safari, Water Park and much more. We had a great time playing mini-golf, doing treetop adventures, walking alongside beautiful butterflies. This place is for both adult and children alike. My niece was happiest of all days spent in Ahmedabad, and this was by far the best hours of the trip for all of us as well. We could only spend half a day there as we had planned to visit a museum as well, but we could have easily spent a full day there if we had time.

Day 4

Took a quick look around the temple to see the architecture.

Dada Hari Ni Vav

It is a stepwell built in the 15th century. It is reduced to a mere old structure without proper maintenance. Took a quick look around and clicked some pictures and moved to our final destination.
