We started from Delhi in a Himsuta Volvo for an overnight journey to the next adventure Dharamshala - Mcloedganj - Triund Trek.
We reached Mcleodganj early in the morning at around 6:30 am. We had to wait for the room as we requested early check-in and it wasn't available due to extended weekend rush.
After check-in, we took rest, freshened up and went to the local market to explore. We visited the Dalai Lama Temple and indulged in local shopping and Momos 😋
Hotel: Hotel Holiday Hill
On Day 3, we hired a local taxi to roam about in Mcloedganj and Dharamshala. We visited the St
John Church, located in the serene wilderness, the Dal Lake which was mostly dry, the Dharamshala Stadium, the beautiful Tea Gardens filled with the aroma of the fresh tea leaves, the BhaguNag temple and the Bhagsu Nag falls and Naddi View Point.
Our day ended at around 5:30 pm and we had another fun day, exploring the local market.
Taxi fare: 2000 for this day tour
Suggested shopping list: Shawls and singing bowl
This was the second last day of the trip and the most adventurous one. This is because we started the Triund Trek in the morning. After a half an hour bumpy ride from Main Square, Mcleodganj to Gallu Temple we reached the check point for the trek.
The trek is a moderate one and not at all easy. The first half of the Trek, i.e. till Magic View Point is comparatively easy. But after this the real challenge starts. The trek is mostly steep with huge rocks and patches of glaciers and ice. The whole trek offers mesmerising views and awesome ambience.
Once we reached the Triund top, we experienced chilling temperatures and cloud covered Dhauladhar range. We were slightly disappointed even though the view was spectacular. After sometime the clouds cleared and the majestic Dhauladhar range seemed just above us.
