This was the most random plan for us and the shortest till now. The deep urge to feel the snow before the season ends made us rush from Delhi to the Hills. We started on Friday at 10:30 pm in a rented Mahindra KUV100 (surprisingly the car is super spacious and comfortable). The target was to feel the snow and be back on Sunday by 8 am in Delhi as our dearest friend Debojyoti had a return flight on Sunday afternoon.
So there we were, headed on the GT Karnal Highway on "the" Friday night. The love of hills make such Fridays really special. The car was the only booking that we had made. No hotel bookings no non-sense!
The itinerary was as follows:
1. Dinner at Amrik Sukhdev: 12:30- 1:30 am (mandatory for us always!)
2. Chai & sutta breaks all along
3. Star gazing at random pit stops (a must !)
4. Waking up to the amazing view of the hills at 6:00 am (as I wasn't driving :P)
5. Loo breaks at great looking restaurants on the way
6. Shimla at 7:00 am. Since there was no sign of the snow so we drove further.
7. Spotted snow near Charabra and parked our car as there was heavy traffic jam due to icing on roads and snow clearing works. So we decided to walk along the road and enjoy the eye popping views of the nature.
7. Charabra -->Kufri ---> Charabra 8 km apprx on foot (made us dead tired but equally energized ! Oh & yes, that was the most fun part )
8. Breakfast at Hotel Sher-e-Punjab in Kufri at around 8 am.
9. Playing in snow all along.
10. Lunch at IHM Canteen
11. Snow games along the road.
12. Drive back from Charabra at 5 pm.
13. Super delicious dinner at Aamod, Shoghi ( Our experience from the last visit to Shimla brought us here) 8-10 p m
14. Drive back from Shoghi to Delhi and back on time !
