My very first written experience sharing about my trips. I am a regular traveler and has been to many places. My travel activity goes like search -> refine -> research -> go -> enjoy. For this time we decided to go to some hills and the nearest to us is Shimla. It was not my first time, but the desire to see snow fall brings my heart and mind to be in Shimla only.
We started on Friday evening, and tried to be on time. We departed from Gurgaon at around 1845 hours in the evening. We took KMP express highway to ignore our dearest JAM PACK Delhi traffic. Thanks to the expressway, we were able to cross Delhi before time and guess what without any brakes.
Our First Stop - Zhilmil Dhaba, Karnal. Yes! we did not stop at Murthal for the fancy dinner, instead we stopped after a good drive of 4 hours at zhilmil which serves good non veg and veg food.
We reached shimla around 4 in the morning, checked in and doozed off. We were scared about the snow conditions but guess what we were able to cross everything smoothly.
Next morning, we wake up at 8 in the morning and the view was breath taking. Good Sunshine and snow everywhere. Had our breakfast and left for mall road and the ridge. The landscape was covered with snow and the view was mesmerizing. Had some good photography session and ended with a beautiful sunset.
Next day we checked out of hotel and drove back to gurgaon. In between we haulted for 1 hour to visit Gurudwara Nada Sahib, it is hardly 5 minutes from the highway and a must visit place.
Things to rem -
1. If you are driving yourself, make sure you are good in driving at night and the car is totally ok.
2. Go to Cafe Shimla time, the best cafe with a view and tasty food.
3. Prefer going to the brew estate for evening booze.
4. Prefer staying near to the lift (no mall road) and use taxi (ola works there).
5. If you are a wine fan, buy local himachali wines (5 bottles per person is allowed)
6. Visit Kufri in case you were not able to witness snow in shimla.
