Tucked away in the lap of nature and 3 km uphill from Mcleodganj lies the mystic land of Dharamkot. The place is ideal for you if you are looking to keep away from hustle bustle of crowd. The place is sparsely crowded and away from maddening commercialization.
The place will entice you to an unending levels and the crowd is refined and filled with foreigners. To start of your journey, the place is not directly accesible although the route is pretty simple. From Delhi, one can take the HRTC volvo upto Mcleodganj after that local autos can be taken to reach Dharamkot.
Place to stay: for a budget traveller, you can look for homestays at dirt cheap rate of 300 and those looking for more comfort can head to Dharamkot Inn @ 1200/-.
Food: There are various cafes in Dharamkot and beauty of place in the monsoon is unmatchable. While sitting in the cafes you can see clouds coming along your way and entering cafe. The feeling so close to nature is hard to describe in words. The best place to eat is Morgan's Cafe & moonlight cafe.
Places to explore: Mcleodganj - Budhha temple and market, Dharamshala- The famous stadium.
Triund Trekk- If your adventure enthusiast do not miss out this one. This is a warm up trek for various other legendary trek. The trek is easy and hauntingly beautiful. The uphill will take you around 3-4 hrs and down will again 2-2.5hr. One can stay overnight and enjoy beautiful night sky. The skyline is beautiful and full of stars. My recommedation is to stay overnight. The camping tents are easily available out there.
Head out people and unwind in the glorious gift of nature and explore yourself!!!
